The 3rd Session of Canada and China's Energy Cooperation held in Edmonton

From June21to 22,the 3rd session of Canada and China’s Energy Cooperation Conference was held in Edmonton, which was jointly held by Canadian Alberta University, Canada Energy Research Institute and China University of Petroleum. Almost over 160 attended this conference from Canada’s Department leader of relevant provinces of Canada, and department leaders from Bureau of Energy of China Development and Reform Commission and Department of Foreign Economic Cooperation of Ministry of Commerce etc.

Ambassador Lu Shumin addressed the opening of conference and delivered speech at dinner party. He illustrated situation and content of two country’s decision on the establishment and development of strategic cooperation partner relationship, he thought great progress was made in all fields with the high speed development of China’s economy in recently 30 years, but we also need to face the new challenge and problem; there was the traditional friendship and widely cooperation opportunity between China and Canada. The relevant field between China and Canada including energy cooperation got further development and strengthen due to the two country’s ministerial visiting and communication.

This conference also provided the better opportunity of dialogue and communication for some petrol corporation, department of energy technology and research and academe to make communication and discussion on traditional energy, diversion and technology of energy, environmental efforts, energy investment cooperation and new technology of energy etc.
